Jane's First Visit to Colorado!!
Easter weekend we headed to Colorado for 10 days! Jane's first visit!
Thursday:
In the evening our friend Tessa drove us to the airport (Thank you Tessa!). We weren't sure what traveling with a baby would be like since it was our first time. We made it through security without any trouble, other than holding up the line a little! :) Jane ate and slept the first half hour of the flight and then she decided to wake up. Anyone who knows Jane knows she likes to move so she didn't really like being constrained to our laps and the same little space on the plane. After crying for most of the flight, she was cute when we were waiting for the stroller, smiling at all of the passengers as they were leaving. :) Papa, Nana & Aunt Shaina were waiting for us outside of baggage claim. Jane was excited to meet her Aunt for the first time!
My parents house is much bigger than our apartment so Jane had lots to look at. Her favorite thing (by far) was the light in the entryway (I included a picture in the slideshow). Who knows why, but she loved it! Every time she saw it she smiled, even in the middle of crying! She also really liked Rane & Pepper. It was her first time being around dogs and she loved watching them play in the house.
Friday:
We had lots of visitors. Jane met Bill & Lisa, Ryan & Lindsay and Mike.
Saturday:
My grandparents, Aunt Barb, Steve, Uncle Dan & my cousin Ali came to Greeley to meet Jane. Everyone loved her, of course! My grandparents stayed until Tuesday morning so they could spend extra time with her. Nathan went skiing that day with Ryan and they had a great time at Copper Mountain.
Saturday night Jane decided that she didn't like sleeping somewhere other than home. For the rest of our trip she only slept for 1-2 hours at a time during the night. This made for a very tired mommy & daddy, but we still had lots of fun.
Easter Sunday:
Jane's first Easter! Jane loved her Easter basket from "the Easter bunny". She got lots of new toys and books (thank you Nana & Papa). She especially likes her bug that makes strange sounds and lights up. :) My cousin Michael and his girlfriend came up to join us on Easter. We spent most of the day eating and playing. In the afternoon we played with the Wii...I even managed to beat everyone in MarioKart with Jane sleeping in her wrap on my chest. :)
Monday-Wednesday:
Our friends Carmenza, Colleen, Sharon & Dale, Judy, Kody & Mark all came over to meet our little princess. Nathan and my dad went skiing at A-Basin on Wednesday. My mom and I got lots of visiting time while Jane slept in our arms (the only place she would sleep!)
Thursday:
Nathan's dad came into Greeley so we had dinner with him at the Perrich's house. It was Jane's first time meeting them too.
Friday:
Pizza night with the family. There was a big storm in Colorado, some people got 27 inches of snow! Aunt Shaina barely made it back to Greeley for the weekend. Unfortunately the snow didn't make it to Greeley, we only got the rain and the cold. I thought it would have been fun for Jane to have her first snow. Maybe next year!
Saturday:
We went out for lunch with Nathan's dad then we hung out at my parents the rest of the day. Jane had lots of fun with her Aunt Shaina.
Sunday:
Brunch at The Egg & I with the McConnells and the Jenkins! My dad ended up carrying Jane around most of the meal, but it was still yummy!
On our way out of town we met our friends Katie & Kevin at Shaina's condo in Denver. Katie is getting ready to be deployed to Afghanistan in May so it was really special to get to see her.
After we got through security (apparently they thought I was smuggling explosives in a bottle of breast milk) the fight home went pretty well. Jane ate, played and slept the whole way, never getting very fussy! Our friends Matt & Vasha picked us up from the airport (thank you!)
The week was very busy, but we had a great time. It was nice to spend time with my parents and for them to spend time with Jane. Shaina came up several times during the week too. We ate lots of strawberry waffles and strawberry pie and spent lots of time laughing and playing with Jane. Our trip reminded us how much we miss Colorado and all of our friends and family there. It made me excited that we are getting closer to being finished with our time in LA. Hopefully we will be back in Colorado someday soon.
I hope everyone enjoys the new pictures. Nana got carried away! :) She got some really cute pictures of Jane. There are a couple slideshows and I might post some video clips later!
Our next big trip is to St. Louis for Emily's graduation! Maybe we will have recovered from this trip by then! :)

Wow, sounds like you all had an awesome trip! Jane met lots of new faces it looks like! She's getting cuter all the time, can't wait to see her in person again!
Looks like Jane had lots of fun in Colorado and got to meet lots of friends and family! In fact, I think you should plan another trip soon...around July 4th?!?
