Jane's First Christmas!!

This past week we celebrated our first Christmas with Jane. It was a wonderful new experience with a child, even if she is little! It was fun to see her excited about new toys, wrapping paper & the tree. We missed being with our families again this year, but we are creating new traditions together and it was a special day.
Some of these pictures are from the week leading up to Christmas too.

Jane loves to pull the books off of my bookcase that is hidden behind the door in our bedroom.

One morning this week she slept in until after 8 and when I snuck in to check on her I couldn't resist taking a picture. :) Too cute!

Nathan's sister's birthday is on the 23rd so we went to Redondo and took Megan out for lunch. We spent a little time on the beach too, before Nathan had to head back to work.

Even though we were celebrating Megan's birthday, she brought Jane an early birthday present - fairy wings and a tutu!

We went to an early Christmas Eve service at our church and we all got dressed up for the occasion. Jane looked so sweet in her new dress and bow. (yes, she now has enough hair for a clip in bow!)

After the service they have a fake snow blower that they put on for the kids & hot chocolate too! Jane loved playing in the "snow."

Megan came and joined us for the service and dinner out afterwards.

Jane was such a little lady at the restaurant. She is getting to be such a big girl!

On the way home we stopped by one of our neighbor's homes who really goes all out with the Christmas lights.

After Jane was in bed Nathan and I got to experience helping Santa for the first time. :)

Jane was a little overwhelmed by all of the presents on Christmas morning, but she had a great time with the wrapping paper! She actually did open a few of her presents, including a fun new puzzle game from her Gramma & Granddad. They also sent her a gift certificate for a Gymboree membership! We can't wait to get started, hopefully burning off some of her energy!

The chair was a gift from Papa & Nana and Jane has already figured out how to use it to climb onto the couch. She is learning to slide out of it too, instead of walking right off the edge. It is a definite favorite from the day.

Daddy & Mommy got Jane a Noah's Ark little people set, with lots of extra animals.

She also got lots of new books from everyone!

In the afternoon we had Christmas dinner at the Tatum's house.

These slippers were a gift from Matt & Megan, so cute!

Not even sure what my favorite part of the update is :) The video of christmas was awesome! Hope that is included in my 'present' ... but Jane needs to come to Papa & Nana's for christmas to see REAL snow! We can't wait!
