Snow, birthdays and more sickness...
As a last celebration of Jane's birthday, last weekend we took her to see Beauty and the Beast! She wore her Belle dress she got for Christmas. Katie & Kevin joined us since they were here visiting for the weekend.
Jane and Daddy shared popcorn and lemonade during the movie. She was really excited to see one of her favorite movies on the big screen.
Playing games with Kevin. Henry found a new buddy. :)
Last Monday Nathan had the day off so we headed up to Estes, to Rocky Mountain National Park. Jane & Daddy were having fun at lunch.
Our first family snow-shoe excursion - at Bear Lake. We've spent a lot of time there this year!
Jane led the way - and she loved it! She had a great time trekking back and forth across the lake and up and down the trails.
Look at her go!
After 15 minutes Henry and Mommy headed back to the car to warm up. Jane & Daddy stayed out in the snow for over an hour!
We finally saw some "wild-life" on our way out of the park. :) Jane really wanted to see some animals!
Jane has been against having a haircut for almost a year - she insisted that it would hurt and she just wanted her hair to be long, "like Rapunzel!" She caved to peer pressure this week! Her friends, Sophie and Madeline, were sporting brand new hairstyles at our small group on Tuesday night and Jane suddenly decided that she needed one too. I took advantage of her change of mind and we went the next day. She did great and is very proud of her hair now.
The after-haircut treat for sitting so still.
Jane got some new watercolors and she had a lot of fun trying them out on her new easel.
Budding artist!
Henry LOVES this hat now. He wants to wear it all the time - even at home.
Henry's new hiding place, under the bathroom sink.
After Henry's nap Jane wants to get in with him. It is usually chaos but also a lot of laughing.
Uncle Matt and Papa both had birthdays this last week so we celebrated with them on Saturday with lunch at the Egg & I and an ice cream cake at our house.
Happy Birthday guys!
Love this little man. He is having a rough winter season - he just finished his antibiotics for a sinus infection on Wednesday and he felt better for a few days. Today he came down with a fever of 103 so we made another trip to the doctor and found out he has strep throat! I guess we're going to have to go on lock-down at our house until spring if we want to get well around here!
Even though he feels crummy he is still our happy little guy. I love this picture because he wasn't up for 10 minutes before he wanted me to put his hat on and his shoes. :)
