August 2014

August started out with me on the couch for a few days after my knee surgery. Thankfully I had Nana and Aunt Shaina to help watch kids! They stopped by for snuggles every once in a while.

Pete started walking sometime at the end of July/beginning of August, right in the middle of his 9th month! He is such a sweet boy and so fun too.

Grandad and Gramma came to Colorado for a few days and they invited us to stay with them in Breckenridge. We had a great time. One of the mornings we rode the gondola up to the top of the resort and the kids got to ride the alpine slides.

So fun to make Pete laugh!

This was the third river the kids played in over two weeks. They love it every time.

Everyone was excited we saw a beaver!!

After a couple days Nathan had to be back for work. Grandad and Gramma invited Jane and Henry to stay with them for a few extra days on their own. I know the kids loved having the extra time and undivided attention.

Our friends hosted a Disney World themed party and we all dressed up for the occasion.

The party was amazing - everything from Disney was represented - even the new tickets, Magic Bands!

The kids really wanted to camp out in the backyard so Nathan made it happen before it got too cold. Of course they had to roast marshmallows too!

The day before school started for Jane I took the kids to Lake Loveland for one last hurrah of summer.

We took the kids to Chuckee Cheese for dinner to celebrate Jane starting kindergarten. 

I really can't even believe that she is in kindergarten. She was very excited and ready to go.

Jane's teacher, Mrs. Graffis, read the kids a story about a raccoon who has to start night school and leave his mommy. At the end of the story she called the kids up one at a time, whispered something in their ear and gave them a kiss sticker. Then they came up to their moms and dads, told them they loved them and gave them the sticker. It was very sweet and a good way to get us to all get out of there! :)

After the first day of school we had a picnic lunch with our friends, the Hullahs. Jane and Luke ended up in the same class!

Soccer season has begun! Jane led the warm-up lap the first day of practice.

Henry got to visit preschool and meet his teacher, Mrs. Bledsoe. (Jane's teacher from preschool got married and changed her name! It's been a little confusing for Henry) :)

The annual Saint Patrick's Family camping trip! Only 35 kids under 10, sounds fun, right? :)

Labor Day weekend we had a garage sale to clear out some things. The kids decided they needed to set up a lemonade stand. Jane took it pretty seriously and I think she made at least $20!

My birthday present from Nathan, tickets to see Keith Urban at Fiddlers! It was the first time we had been to a concert there and I loved it!
