Peter's 1st Birthday!!

On October 16th we celebrated our littlest man's first birthday! He brings a lot of laughter and joy to our home. Jane and Henry love him so much, it melts my mommy heart. Peter is inquisitive, always exploring everything. He loves to test boundaries, but he is a sweet boy too. He thinks he rules the house, and mostly he does. Some of his favorites as he turns one are balls and cars, playing with his big sister in her room and trying to eat big brother's legos. He sees an open door and starts running, always thinking he is missing something fun. :)

On Peter's birthday we celebrated with a song and a chocolate chip pancake!

Opening presents from Grandad and Gramma! He got his own piggy bank and sleeping bag!

Peter's birthday party was a few days later. Originally, I had asked Papa and Nana to let me have it at their house because I figured we wouldn't all fit in our house - who knew we would get to have the party outside in the middle of October! :)

Jane's game was a bug hunt - she hid little caterpillars she made out at the edge of the yard. When they found their caterpillar they exchanged it for a lollipop.

Aunt Shaina and Uncle Matt - they'll be hosting their own first birthday party before you know it!

Aunt Emily's new dog, Tucker, was tuckered out from playing before the party.

Grammy and Grampy drove up from Colorado Springs.

Jane made the little banner on the front of Peter's highchair! She copied the pictures from the hungry caterpillar book, all the things he ate! :)

Pete got a little help opening his presents.

If you wondered where Henry was in all the fun - our sweet boy was very sick on the day of his brother's party!  :(  We set him up in a cozy room with coloring and teenage mutant ninja turtle movies during the party. We saved a few of the presents for afterwards so Henry could join in some of the fun.
