June 2015

We love summer! June was a great month. We had a lot of fun, going to the pool, camping and playing. 

Pete earned his nickname #pistolpeteswisher this month. We were late to this dinner out with friends because he found an unattended sharpie...we were trying to save the couch and wash him up. 

On June 3rd, Nathan and I celebrated our 10th anniversary! I can't quite believe it has been 10 years. I am so blessed to be married to this man. He is more than I could have ever hoped for in a husband and a father to our children. I love you Nathan!

Forgoing a big trip since I would rather go when I am not toting a little baby along - Nathan rented a boat and we went out on the lake for the afternoon. It was a lot of fun.

Our first time out with the new (to us) camper!! 

Our destination was Turquoise Lake, near Leadville. It was beautiful! The kids had a great time playing on the huge beach along the lake.

A little trip into Leadville with a stop at the park. Daddy was SO funny, standing in front of the swings just in time to get kicked. 

We brought some little dinosaurs along and the kids had a lot of fun creating their own dinosaur lands.

This summer we decided to get a membership to one of the community pools. The kids and I went at least 3 times a week. Henry was quite excited this day because we stopped at the store for some goggles on our way to the pool.

Pete somehow climbed through Nathan's side of the cabinet in our bathroom, pushed the middle drawer out and climbed in the bottom drawer. I had to take the middle and top drawers out to get him out. He was pretty pleased with himself.

Two of my girlfriends from high school, Jen and Abby, were also expecting this summer! We went to a lovely baby shower for Abby and had to get a picture of all three of us. 

It was fun to catch up with so many friends and celebrate all the babies!

The second weekend of June we participated in the Strides for Epilepsy 5K for our third year. We had the biggest team so far, over 80 people! We also raised more than ever before for the foundation. It has become a wonderful way to celebrate my brother and his life. When we see all of his friends and family remembering him and honoring him in this way it means a lot to us.

Pete decided that he liked having "sissy" read to him and rock him before bed. Jane thinks it's pretty fun too.

Family movie night!

My parents generously took us to see Wicked at the Buell Theatre in Denver. We had a lot of fun, just the adults.

On Nathan's birthday, I surprised him by sending him for a day of hiking and back country skiing with his friends, Justin and Bryon. He said he had fun but they were wiped out when they got home!

Back at home we were getting ready for a surprise birthday barbecue with our small group. The kids helped me make a birthday cake.

Gramma was in town looking for a new house in Colorado!! She was able to join us for the party.

The last weekend in June, Jane and I took a girl's trip to Arizona for my cousin Briana's wedding. We had a great time at the wedding and visiting with family but the best part of the weekend was spending some quality time with this little girl. She is quickly growing up and I just love getting to hear her thoughts on life. We had such a great time together, swimming at the hotel pool, watching movies in our room, shopping for the boys and a million other little things that were so special. I hope we get to do lots more Mommy-Daughter trips!

One of Jane's favorite things about our hotel was the outdoor patio. We had breakfast outside every morning and Jane didn't think we could leave until she had caught at least one lizard. She enlisted everyone's help.

23 weeks!

One of my favorite parts of the weekend was getting to see my cousin Ashley, who has been living in Australia for the last 3 1/2 years. 

Jane made some friends and they danced the night away.

Nathan took Henry and Pete to a kid's workshop at Lowes. Henry got to build a Captain America motorcycle.

Headed home!

Nathan took an extra day off after the weekend and we went to the Poudre river. 

Jane finally lost her front tooth she had been wiggling for weeks.

My Uncle John and his family arrived at my parents' house at the end of the month. They stayed a couple weeks while they were waiting to close on their new house in Colorado Springs. Pete had a lot of fun playing with his cousin Kaylee.
