August 2015
August was a busy month for us! We finished out the summer strong with a mini-vacation, a camping trip and Jane started first grade!
Our good friends, the Tatums, came for a visit the first weekend in August. Matt participated in the Boulder Iron Man and the whole family decided to come along. The kids had a great time together. Crazy that a few years ago we had no kids!
The kids ran in a fun run the day before Matt's event.
Henry and Miles were ready to go!
It might have been a "fun run" but Jane still took it very seriously. She might have a future in track.
Out for dinner with the girlies. Jane loved having Penny around - a pretend little sister for the weekend.
Hopefully this didn't affect Matt's time the next day... :)
Watching Matt during the run.
Way to go Matt!
My sweet Pete! He yells, "Yeehaw" every time.
Face time with our favorite little cousin/niece
Jane took a session of swim lessons and is now doing fantastic!
Always helping Daddy
She won't be the baby for long!
The kids birthday breakfast for me
My birthday weekend we went to Glenwood Springs. I love going there and it had been a few years - since I was pregnant with Henry!
Dinner out after we went swimming a few hours at the hot springs.
Playing on the hotel phone
Back for a night time swim!
Worn out kids!
Our second day we went to the Glenwood Adventure Park
Pete wasn't too sure about riding the gondola
The cave tours were really fun. The kids really enjoyed them too.
During one of the cave tours Pete decided it was time for a nap.
Racing around Gramma's new house in Loveland!
Pete was pretty excited about his "football donut!"
As a last hurrah of summer, the day before school started, my friend Christy and I decided to be cool moms and take our kids to a fun new park in Ft. Collins.
Kai started Kindergarten the next day and Jane started First Grade!
I'm a little worried about when Pete and Anders get there...don't they just look like trouble? :)
First day of First Grade!!
Nathan and I took Jane out for a special breakfast before school.
Meeting her new teacher!
Back at home with the boys...I am seriously outnumbered!
Someone got stuck in the crow's nest without his sister to rescue him.
For reasons I'm still not quite sure of I decided to re-do the inside of our 20 year old camper the week before our big family camping trip with the church. I blame it on Pinterest and a blog called The Pop-Up Princess. Six days later and we had new curtains, cushion covers, flooring and painting!
I really love how it turned out!
The Saint Pat's family camping trip seems to get bigger and bigger...this year we had 40 kids! :)
The second night we were some of the only ones who stayed so Nathan decided to move our camper to a better spot... lol
Pete stayed with Papa and Nana the first night when it was pretty crazy with so many kids but he joined us for Saturday night.
Super Hero Flying Ninja Henry
Playing at story hour
First soccer practice of the season! Henry's first year playing!
We have a bunch of comedians at dinner time around here.
Loving the uniform choices this year! She looks so grown up!
The first week of school Jane had Friday off so Nana came with us and we met Shaina and Esther at the Denver Science museum. Pete loves getting to see Esther.
Drawing pictures of her favorite bird, the Que, from South America.
Enjoying Friday Fest
At the Frontier 5K, a little Hullah/Swisher group hug.
Cheering on Darci and Nathan!
Papa got a new toy so the kids were all checking it out. Pete got a little upset when his rocket landed on the roof. :)
