Henry's 4th Birthday

It is crazy to think that our first little man is four years old! His birthday in November was ninja turtle overload! We had a lot of fun making the day special for Henry. He is such a thankful little boy, it just makes us want to spoil him!
Henry is a bundle of energy from the moment he wakes up in the morning. He is usually the first one up, tiptoeing around to ask me "is it morning time yet?" Sometimes we can convince him to just go back and play in his room for a few more minutes. :) After a few conversations like this I eventually have to just get up too. The other day I got up with him and there was a beautiful sunrise. I called him in to the kitchen to see it and he told me, " I know Mom, I see it every day." :) Henry loves breakfast, it is his favorite meal of the day. Most days I feel like a short-order cook making pancakes, eggs, serving up orange juice, bananas. He's been like that since he was a baby, now if only every meal were like that!
Henry is loving preschool this year. He is very precise and likes to take his time to make everything perfect - especially his name. He loves to tell me all about what he did in school after I pick him up while we are racing to pick up Jane. (their pick-up times are only 15 minutes apart) Henry is old enough now that he and Jane are really playing well together a lot of the time. They come up with some crazy games and they are Henry's ideas half of the time. Henry is also great with his little brother - I watch him change his play to include Pete all the time. Everyone's favorite game is to make Peter laugh and Henry is one of the best at it - usually with nonsense noises.
Henry loves to play with his buddies from church. We are co-hosting our small group this year and Henry gets SO excited when his friends are coming to our house. It's so fun to watch them all growing up together.
One of Henry's favorite things is to play ninja turtles/pirates/wrestling with Daddy. Sometimes he has elaborate plans and ideas ready right when Nathan gets home - no down time for Dad! They run around pretending to fight the foot clan or search for treasure - it's fun to watch!
Henry is growing so fast, it's hard to keep up! We just love him so much and are so thankful for the sweet little boy he is.

All ready for his party!

Jane was a good sport even though she was the only girl, She even wore one of Henry's ninja turtle shirts for the party. :)

All the boys making their own pizzas!

Headed downstairs for a game of find the ninja - led by Nathan and Bryon. Nathan got them each a pair of finger flash lights to use to play hide and seek in the dark :)

Eating like the turtles.

Henry really wanted these fun turtle cake pops instead of a cake - they were actually easier!

An inside piñata might not have been the best idea but the kids loved it.

We are so thankful for all of the great families we get to raise our kids with!

Henry's actual birthday was in the middle of the week but we had a chocolate donut and presents waiting for him at the breakfast table. Happy Birthday Henry!!

Opening some fun surprises from Daddy and Mommy.
